Welcome To
AE Labs
We would like to invite you to take part in our journey of exploration to see how far we can push Artificial ESP.
By Artificial ESP I am referring to the ability to detect ferromagnetic metals, magnets and even experience a sensation that occurs in the fingertip when the user’s hand is close to electromagnetic fields. This is achieved by implanting a specially made magnet implant into the fingertip.
To those unaware, there’s an entire community of people we call “Biohackers”, many of whom have a magnet implant embedded in at least one of their fingertips. I, Gensei, am one of those people.
These implants have a wide range of benefits, from detecting ferromagnetic metal, detecting other magnets and even detecting the electricity flowing through power cables and other electronics that have a high enough current running through them, like microwave ovens, the thick power cable that plugs into the back of a water kettle and some fans and room heaters, to name but a few items.
That’s just the “ESP” side of these benefits. there is also a kinetic side to these abilities, as users can lift small ferromagnetic and magnetic objects, make the needle on a compass spin or point at a direction of that person’s choosing, to moving a magnetic ball through a maze. Again, I am only naming a few of the things these magnet implants can do for people.
Now, we don’t have an agreed upon term for the kinetic abilities. some might just call it Magnetism, while others prefer words like “Magnetokinesis” or “Artificial Telekinesis”. I like all of those terms, but they don’t fully describe everything magnet implants are capable of, but there is a word I hear getting thrown around in science fiction media that I personally think is a good name and descriptor for people who have a fingertip magnet implant. Inspired by sci-fi movies, manga etc, I call such people “Artificial Espers” since, in many sci-fi media, an esper can use various abilities from moving objects without touching them, to sensing things in their surroundings that people normally wouldn’t be able to sense.
I’ve been calling the abilities Artificial ESP and the users Artificial Espers for quite some time now.
My Journey With Magnetic Artificial ESP
In 2019 I hand crafted a deck of 5 Zener cards (the cards used in actual ESP tests that have a symbol on one face: a circle, a cross, wavy lines, a square and a 5 pointed star) which had small pieces of thin ferromagnetic metal embedded in different positions inside the cards to correspond to the symbol on the face of each of the cards. When I memorized the 5 positions (for which I have a surprisingly simple system to memorize, this will be explained to future owners of the cards, which we sell on this site, although the ones we sell are much better looking than my prototype, and more durable) I was, and still am able to scan the back of the cards and say with 100% accuracy which symbol is on the other side of each card.
I later started prototyping other devices to see if I could either sense information from them, or move them without touching them. I succeeded.
This had led me to assembling a team of talented engineers, enthusiasts and veterans in the field of biohacking to make a whole variety of devices that interact with the implants as though the user has some kind of supernatural ability, while reminding myself to stay grounded, these are artificial ESP and artificial magnetokinetic abilities, we aren’t supernatural just for having a magnet implant.
I hope that our efforts to share the joys of these abilities through our products will not be in vain, as there is a lot of fun to be had with these devices.
My Answers To Some Questions You May Have
If you’re interested in experiencing any of this for yourself, you may have some questions, and I hope I am able to answer them below. If you have any questions that I have not answered below, please feel free to contact me via email at: Gensei@ArtificialEsperLabs.com
What If I Don’t Have A Magnet Implant In My Fingertip?
Fret not, there is still a way you can enjoy our products without undergoing the implantation procedure, you can use the technique as follows to get the same experience temporarily and use this technique as often as you like!
Technique: Using strong Spirit Gum or Pros Aide, glue an N52 magnet to your index fingertip. After use you can remove the magnet quite easily. before I got my implant, I used superglue, which worked well for me but if you want to try superglue, be careful, some people have unwanted reactions on their skin to superglue. to remove, I used acetone nail polish remover.
I Would Like To Get A Magnet Implant, Where Can I Find These Magnet Implants?
There are a number of places that sell magnet implants that can be used for this. I personally recommend either the Titan by the company Dangerous Things, or, if you’re on a tighter budget, a Sensing Magnet from Steve Haworth works pretty well for both sensing and kinetic abilities, I speak from personal experience, just be gentle with the Haworth implant as the silicone that coats it could fail if crushed by other magnets that are powerful, or if the finger is hit by blunt force. I reserve my right index finger for using the magnet implant, and use my remaining fingers and thumbs for daily activities, which I adjusted to quite quickly, only a few weeks went by before it felt more natural to use my other fingers for daily activities instead of the finger with the implant. it is surprising how quickly one’s body can adapt to changes made to it.
Symbiont Labs are also working on making magnet implants so its worth keeping an eye on their website to see when they release their magnet implants. My good friend and CEO of Symbiont Labs, Cassox, likes to keep things as affordable as possible, so I too am looking forward to seeing their finished products.
Important Note: do not take a regular N52 (or other magnet) and implant it into your finger under your skin, as these magnets need to be coated in a bio-safe inert material so that the magnet itself does not oxidize into your hand. the safest bet is to buy a magnet implant intended for this purpose from a trusted seller, or glue a regular uncoated one to your fingertip using one of the methods I have described for short term use.
Are There Any Dangers That Come With Getting An Implant Or Sticking A Magnet To My Fingertip?
Well, I wouldn’t say there are any significant or life threatening dangers, but there are some risks that may come with actual implants such as the protective coating failing, as the magnet, once exposed to moisture under the skin can cause the now exposed magnet inside the implant to oxidize which may result in discoloration of the finger, swelling and discomfort. this is most likely to happen with a silicone coated implant, although it is possible to avoid this by being extra careful with the implant.
I think the safest implant is the Titan by Dangerous Things, as this magnet is coated in titanium, so failure shouldn’t be possible if the Titan is in good condition.
There is however, like with all implants, piercings etc, a chance that the implant could reject. It doesn’t happen too often but to be fair I feel its prudent to mention that rejection is a small possibility.
As for sticking a magnet to your finger temporarily, the only risk I can think of is if you have an allergy to any of the glues you use, or to Neodymium 52 magnets (N52). but these should be treatable easily. Please consult a dermatologist if you have any concerns about any of the glues. In short, if you have any allergies, please take them into consideration before proceeding.
Personally, I have yet to experience any problems, I’ve had a silicone coated magnet since 2018 and haven’t had any issues, but results may vary from individual to individual.
A question I have been asked a few times is how magnet implants would react to an MRI machine… well, I have yet to have an MRI myself however I’ve heard that the MRI wont actually pull the magnet out of my finger but it will cause the implant to rotate, which can be a bit uncomfortable. I think if you’re concerned, either use strong elasticated adhesive surgical tape to wrap around the finger, or if you are very much concerned, you could always have the implant removed before an MRI and after it has completely healed, get a new implant.
Again, if you have any other questions about magnet implants, or our products that are designed to work with these implants or glued on magnets, please feel free to reach out and I will do my very best to get your questions answered as soon as possible.
